A guide from FraJo / FraJo stav
How to plan a sports facility
A new pitch starts with the people who will use it. Schools, clubs and municipalities benefit from a shared brief covering construction, lighting, equipment and ongoing care. This lets the whole facility be considered from the first design conversation.

Start with an ordinary day
Which sports will be played, how many groups will rotate through, and when will the site open? List training, school lessons, matches and informal use. Consider entrances, changing rooms and equipment storage alongside the playing area. Include people who need accessible routes. These questions help shape a useful brief for the designer.
Bring the site and budget into the brief
Prepare the location, available dimensions, photographs and information about existing utility connections. Explain what is already on site and what should stay. Set out a budget for construction, lighting, equipment and operation. Work through the technical solution and any required approvals with the relevant professionals for that location.
Plan beyond handover
Agree who will open the facility, check equipment and arrange maintenance. Clarify the supply scope, schedule, handover documents and future service when reviewing a quote. FraJo stav handles design and construction; the other FraJo brands can connect that work with lighting, sports equipment and grounds care.
